We remember
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) wishes to commemorate staff members who died in a security incident or an accident while helping people affected by armed conflict and other violence. We have created a Remembrance Wall – an online memorial that you can visit here. The ICRC also has several physical memorials located around the world. We hold commemorative events every year.

Remembrance Wall

Through the Remembrance Wall, you can learn more about our colleagues who were killed in a security incident or an accident while helping people affected by armed conflict and other violence. You can find out what they were like, what motivated them to join the ICRC and what sort of work they did. Their stories are painful and inspiring, tragic and uplifting – and they reveal their unwavering commitment to humanitarian ideals. These are stories we must never forget.

Physical memorials

The ICRC’s physical memorials around the world are places where people can remember and mourn those who died and reflect upon the vital work they did in providing humanitarian protection and assistance to victims of war and other violence.
